Staff Highlight: Supporting Hurricane Helene Recovery Efforts
This month, we’re proud to spotlight Coryn Harris, Director of Fundraising Strategy, for her ongoing work supporting recovery efforts in her Asheville community. Hurricane Helene devastated Western North Carolina when it made landfall September 27th. More than a month later, residents still don’t have access to clean water, and many are still without power and internet. Tourism, the leading economic driver in the area has disappeared, as restaurants and shops are shuttered, leaving many without employment.
Nonprofits and community volunteers are stepping up to support residents with basic necessities that FEMA and other government agencies don’t provide. Coryn has been providing pro bono grant writing support to help local organizations secure funding in this crucial time. If you want to help, please consider a donation to Beloved Asheville or Poder Emma.
Together, we can make a meaningful impact during this critical recovery period.
