We started with only 1 feature and have now shared the stories of almost 100 Black women working in the nonprofit sector, representing numerous native languages, 10 states, and 2 countries. Our purpose is to continuously grow our series in sharing the stories of Black women and building a community network of women looking to grow and learn from one another. As we evolve, our goal is to continue highlighting features twice a month, further expanding the platform to share the stories of those often underrepresented in traditional philanthropic spaces.
In reflecting on this anniversary, Spark Point’s CEO, Whitney Brimfield, shared her vision for the future of the series:
“We are just getting started. The sheer number of women who have been featured is a testament to the power of Black women leading change. Our goal is to be a steadfast platform where Black women’s stories can be heard and celebrated for years to come.” Whitney continued – “I’m continually inspired by what I hear from our prospective job candidates and other fellow consultants: how exciting it is to see people who look like them working on the issues they’re passionate about reflected in the campaign. It’s vital that we continue to create content that reflects the communities we support and push for an industry that is truly representative. Placing Black women and their stories at the forefront is not just important—it’s essential to the future we want to see. ”
Together, we will continue sparking change—one story at a time. Thank you for celebrating this milestone with us.
Help us continue building a powerful and connected community that celebrates one another. If you know someone whose story deserves to be shared—whether it’s a friend, a colleague, or an inspiring figure in your life—invite them to be part of this journey.
